Dr. Brandon Danz

Lancaster, PA

Dr. Brandon Danz is Senior Director of Value Based Care at WellSpan Health, providing leadership for development and management of value-based care models, payor partnerships, and population health strategies serving over 200,000 patients in south central Pennsylvania. Prior to his work at WellSpan, Dr. Danz was Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the PA Department of Human Services, playing a key role in one of the largest state human service agencies in the nation with over 17,000 staff and an annual operating budget of $32 billion. In that role, he worked with health systems to develop innovative care models for high-utilizing Medicaid patients designed to improve outcomes and reduce costs for vulnerable patient populations. He has over 20 published works and conference presentations on healthcare policy, population health strategies, and value-based care. In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Danz remains actively engaged in his community, having served as the Board Chair for the Lancaster County Library System, on the Board of the Lancaster County Convention Center, and continues to serve on the Council of Trustees at Millersville University.

Dr. Danz is a proud graduate of two PASSHE universities. He graduated from Millersville University in 2003 with a degree in History, and from Shippensburg University in 2014 with a master’s degree in public administration. He also has a Master of Health Administration degree from Penn State University (2015) and a PhD in Corporate Leadership from Alvernia University (2024). His graduate studies produced new research into employment of individuals with disabilities, racial inequities of utilization trends and health outcomes of super-utilizing Medicaid enrollees, and the application of Adaptive Leadership Theory and complexity management within 833 Medicare accountable care organizations.

Brandon lives in Lancaster County with his wife Megan and daughters Magdalene and Anne, the youngest of which is just now beginning her education journey in kindergarten.
