Dr. Robert L. Traynham is Executive Vice President, Public Affairs & Strategic Initiatives at AHIP. In this role, he leads AHIP’s communications, coalitions, campaigns, and engagement on the most essential priorities of the association’s members.
Traynham comes to AHIP with decades of experience as a crisis communications expert, distinguished academic, and renowned television and radio personality. He has been a prominent political analyst on media outlets such as CNN and MSNBC and a communications and public affairs leader at the Bipartisan Policy Center, Wal-Mart, and Comcast.
Before his role at AHIP, Traynham served as a public affairs executive at Meta. Traynham is also a Professor and Fellow at Georgetown University. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cheyney University, a master’s degree in political communications from George Mason University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
