Notification of 2024 IRS Form 1095 Availability
In December 2024, federal legislation was passed that introduced changes to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting requirements. Employers may choose to provide the Form 1095-B/C in a more cost-effective manner than mailing to all employees. As a result, Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education will only provide Form 1095-B/C upon request. These changes are effective for forms related to the 2024 calendar year and beyond.
This notice is only pertaining to the Form 1095-B or 1095-C that the State System provides employees. Employees that enrolled in healthcare coverage provided by PEBTF or the Healthcare Marketplace would receive a Form 1095 outside of this process.
Note: Form 1095-B/C are not required for employees to prepare and file their 2024 federal tax return.
Requesting Form 1095
Employees that would like a copy of Form 1095-B/C, please contact your university
human resources office, or HRConnect for PennWest or Commonwealth University employees. Once requested, the form will
be provided no later than 30 days after the request.
