Harrisburg – Josh Grassi will talk about his ‘real-world’ experiences outside the classroom while studying at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania on this week’s episode of Infinite Opportunities, which will air Sunday morning on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN).

Grassi, a senior fisheries biology major, will be joined on the show by Gregory Moyer, an assistant professor of biology at Mansfield; and Zebulun Davenport, vice president of student affairs at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. The show also will include video visits to the campuses of Bloomsburg, Kutztown and Millersville Universities of Pennsylvania.
Infinite Opportunities airs at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday on PCN. The half-hour, public affairs program features roundtable discussions with faculty, staff, students and alumni from the 14 State System universities talking about a range of higher education topics and issues. State System Interim Chancellor Karen M. Whitney moderates the weekly discussions. Each program also offers viewers the opportunity to “travel” back to the universities to learn more about all of the campuses.
This week’s roundtable discussion will focus on the variety of opportunities students attending State System universities have to learn outside of the classroom while also gaining valuable, practical experience. Grassi will talk about the out-of-class project he participated in with the U.S. Geological Survey, and how that experience helped him become even more successful in his classes.
Moyer will discuss real-life experiences available to students, as well as Mansfield University’s collaborations in the community and across the state to help line up such experiences. Davenport also will talk about the many opportunities students at West Chester University have to participate in “co-curricular learning” and how they benefit students.
Each weekly episode of Infinite Opportunities is reshown at 6 p.m. the following Saturday on PCN. This program will be rebroadcast on Feb. 17. Prior episodes, including those from the first three seasons, also can be viewed at www.passhe.edu/InfiniteOpportunities.
