The State System distributes and manages funding to the 10 universities for faculty professional development in two areas:
- Annual Professional Development Grants
- Innovation in Teaching and Improvement of Student Learning Outcomes
Grant Seeking
The purpose of grant seeking is to promote the State System's involvement in external grant and contract opportunities in support of research, scholarly, and public service activities. The goal is to achieve excellence in the universities by enabling program expansion or development, with focus on the strategic areas of Science, Technology and Health; Applied Research; and Teacher Education. The effort will support collaborative initiatives of three or more System Universities.
Grant seeking services include to:
- research and promote externally funded opportunities with a focus on System-wide benefit and collaborations between and among three or more Universities;
- provide both leadership and support in developing proposals for local, state, and federal government contracts, foundations, and related associations;
- work with university grants officers, faculty, administration, community and government representatives, and others to identify and secure funding opportunities of mutual benefit; and
- ensure the State System has adequate grant management procedures and practices which support grant proposal development and project implementation.
