Accounting
The Accounting Office provides services in support of the State System's consolidated financial audit and single (A-133) audit, as well as coordination of internal audit and risk assessment activities.
The office is responsible for:
- Financial Audit and Financial Statements—Administering the Systemwide external audit contract, coordinating the external audit project plan, and managing the engagement between the vendor and the universities.
- Accounting Standards—Ensuring the alignment of System accounting policies, procedures and practices with federal, state, and GASB requirements; providing guidance on all other accounting-related issues.
- Financial Reporting—Overseeing the submission of the finance section of the annual Integrated Postsecondary Educational Data System (IPEDS) on behalf of the universities.
- Internal Audit and Risk Assessment—Coordinating the risk assessment/internal audit project plan; administering the risk assessment contract, and managing the engagement between the vendor and the universities.
