Hecmarys Cintron, Robotics
Hecmarys Cintron was interested in STEM subjects early on, thanks to an internship
she had in high school. She learned about careers in robotics from an innovative partnership
between Millersville University’s Applied Engineering, Safety & Technology Department
and Precision Cobotics, a robotics integrator company based in Lititz, PA. The program
was made possible with grant funding from the Lancaster STEM Alliance.
Through the internship at Millersville, Cintron got hands-on experience with cutting-edge
robotics technology and even had the chance to complete work for real clients.
“I love being able to work with robots and program them to complete a task,” she shared.
Cintron, a driven first-generation student majoring in robotics at MU, is on track
to graduate with a standout résumé and impressive career-ready skills.
“Through the connections I made as an intern, a member of the robotics club, and as
a robotics major, I’ve been encouraged by my peers and professors to keep pursuing
my dreams,” she said.
